COMICS UNMASKED

THE BRITISH LIBRARY

This repeat pattern explores the typographic language of vintage American and British comics from 1940 to 1970. The design is one of three commissioned for the exhibition ‘COMICS UNMASKED: ART AND ANARCHY IN THE UK’, the UK’s largest ever exhibition of mainstream and underground comics.

Applied to many items, from neoprene pencil cases to chocolate bars and craft ale.
